Who is Availity?
You may know Availity as a web portal or claims clearinghouse, but they are much more. Availity is also an intelligent EDI Gateway for multiple payers, and will be the single EDI connection for Unicare.
Your organization can submit and receive the following transactions through Availity’s EDI Gateway.

837- Institutional Claims

837- Professional Claims

837- Dental Claims

835- Electronic Remittance Advice

276/277- Claim Status

270/271- Eligibility Request

278 – Authorization/Referral

278N- Admission/ Discharge Notification

275- Medical Attachments

Please note: All trading partners must use the Availity EDI Gateway to submit Unicare EDI transactions. The EDI gateway migration does not impact provider participation status or adjudication of claims.

Below are ways you can exchange EDI transmissions with Availity:
  1. Continue to use your existing vendor or clearinghouse to submit your claims to Availity's EDI Gateway for you.
  2. Please work with your vendor to ensure connectivity to the Availity EDI Gateway.

  3. Submit your own EDI transmissions and become a direct trading partner with Availity.
  4. You can submit directly to the Availity EDI Gateway without going through a third party vendor.
